The painting started out as a blank piece of plywood 5.5' x 3', painted gray. The image was painted and then the crown of thorns applied, which contained small packets of paint, applied to "bleed" live over the course of about 20 minutes during the remainder of the song, "This Blood" sung by the Morris HIll Baptist Choir, featuring Karley Carter, and while the preacher, Bill Mason, gave the message of the hope of the cross and the resurrection.
